Welcome to Cranmore Integrated Nursery

Cranmore Integrated Nursery follows the curricular guidance for Pre-School education as set out by ‘The Department of Education for Northern Ireland’. The guidance outlines the range of learning opportunities that Nursery children should have through play. The curriculum is broad and balanced, and builds on the children’s previous learning experiences. The curriculum for Pre-School education is set out under six discrete headings;

• Physical Development and Movement
• The World Around Us

September 2023

Our Topic Is:

All About Me

This month we learnt about our families, ourselves, the different parts of our body and about the different feelings and emotions we can have.

October 2023

Our Topic Is:

Autumn and Halloween 

This month we learnt about the changes between night and day. We talk all about how the leaves fall off the trees and change colour and how the weather changes from warm to cold. 

The Colour of the Month was GREEN and are Shape of the Month was a CIRCLE.

November 2023

Our Topic Is:

People Who Help Us! 

This month we discussed different job roles within our community. We learnt about police officers, fire-fighters, doctors, vets and lots more. We talked about how they can help us when we are sick or in trouble. We also learnt about the different ways we keep ourselves safe and the people in our day-to-day lives who can help us.

Our colour of the month was RED and our shape of the month was a SQUARE. 

December 2023

Our Topic Is:

Christmas 

This month we learnt all about Christmas. We discuss different Christmas traditions, what happens durign the Christmas season and what the true meaning of Christmas is. We have lots of fun making Christmas crafts, preforming our Nativity and learning new Christmas songs!

Our Colour of the Month was BLUE and our Shape of the Month was STAR.

January 2024

Our Topic Is:

Winter 

This month we learnt all about the season of Winter. We will discuss how the weather changes and how the animal hibernate for the season. We learn all how water turns to ice and how snowflakes are formed through lots of investigation and experimenting. We read lots of story and learn some facts about artic animals and how the survive in the cold countries around the world.

Our Colour of the Month is WHITE and our Shape of the Month is TRIANGLE.
