Doing Our Bit to Promote Inclusion
3-7 November was Promoting Cultural Diversity and Inclusion Week in Cranmore. This was a great opportunity for us to celebrate the wealth of multi-culturalism that makes up our school community. There were many exciting events planned. We were delighted to welcome back our friends from Artsekta who worked with the older children in understanding Islam. Pupils in P1-P3 worked with Miss Chivite to learn more about Spanish culture. Members of the Ulster Scots Society joined us to share music, stories and language. We looked at some of the more popular sports in N. Ireland with a visit from Instonians Rugby players who led training sessions with the pupils and we were also given a taster of gaelic and soccer.
The children shared customs and traditions from their own family backgrounds with their classmates and some of our parents volunteered to visit the classrooms too.
The week culminated in a wonderful celebratory assembly.
